How To Make A Contact Form In Blogger

The more visitors your site gets, the more likely it is that you’ll encounter people who’ll be leaving comments or asking questions in the comment section of your post that completely have nothing to do with the subject at hand. That is why it is sometimes a good idea to have a page dedicated to cater to those kinds of reader feedback such as a ‘Contact Page’ or ‘Contact Form’.
The process if fairly simple and doesn’t require you to have any solid knowledge in programming, and believe it or not, we will also be using Google Drive (formerly known as Google Docs) to accomplish this. Anyway, enough chatter and let’s get down to business.
Creating the form:
  1. First off, go to your Google Drive account page and click on the red ‘Create’ button, then on the list, choose ‘Form’
  2. Give your form a name (e.g. Contact Page, Ask Me)
  3. The ‘Question Title’ is simply the name of the blank input field that the user needs to fill out such as ‘Name’, ‘Email’, and ‘Comment’
  4. For the ‘Question Type’, just leave it as ‘Text’ for both the ‘Name’ and ‘Email’ while ‘Paragraph text’ for ‘Comment’
  5. Once you’re done, you may preview the form by clicking on the link provided below your current document.
  6. Once you’re satisfied, save it and then click on the ‘More actions’ button, choose ‘Embed’ and then copy the embed code provided
Integrating the form into Blogger:
  1. Now that you got your form, it’s now time to create the page that will contain it inside your Blogger. In your Blogger dashboard, go to ‘Pages’, click ‘New Page’ and choose ‘Blank page’
  2. Provide a ‘Page title’ and then simply paste the copied embed code on to the huge space below (be sure you’re on ‘HTML’ view/mode and not on ‘Compose’)
  3. Hit ‘Preview’ to check the appearance. You might have to resize the dimension depending to your taste or template. To do this, just adjust the height and/or width values in the code
  4. Save or publish once you’re satisfied
Get notified when someone uses the form:
  1. Go back to your Google Drive and open your form file
  2. Under ‘Tools’ menu, choose ‘Notificatin rules…’
  3. Put a check on ‘A user submits a form’
  4. Put a check on ‘Email – right away’
  5. Hit ‘Save’
And that’s it! Try it out by sending out a comment to yourself. Credit to Blogger Xpertise for the idea and the tip!
