In Indian law, Red Corner Notices (RCNs) and Lookout Circulars (LOCs) are both issued by the law enforcement agencies, but they serve different purposes:
- Red Corner Notice (RCN):
- RCN is issued by Interpol at the request of a member country.
- It is a request to locate and provisionally arrest an individual pending extradition.
- RCN is issued against a person who has committed a serious criminal offense and is wanted for prosecution or to serve a sentence in the requesting country.
- RCN is based on a valid national arrest warrant issued by the requesting country.
